Abstract
To evaluate herniography for the diagnosis of inguinal hernia as well as contralateral status in unilateral inguinal hernia, 51 pediatric cases(44 boys, 7 girls) were analysed from June 1992 to October 1995.
The accurate rate of herniography for inguinal hernia was 96%. The positive rate of contralateral patient patent processus vaginalis in unilateral inguinal hernia by herniography was 37%. This procedure didn't show any technically related
complication
among the reported cases.
We recommend that herniography could be applied safely in case of an uncertain diagnosis of hernia or contralateral patient processus vaginalis for surgical dicision.
